Content Marketing in the Age of COVID

Getting results with fewer resources

Even before things got crazy, content marketing teams were stretched super thin.

More than half of all content marketing teams had fewer than 2 full-time people. Nearly 25% had no full time staff.

Even at large companies, only 28% had more than 5 full timers, all this according to our friends at MarketingProfs and the Content Marketing Institute.

Lots of you have had staff trimmed, and working from home has made coordinating projects more difficult than ever. “Sixty-two percent [of companies] have already experienced a fall in employee productivity,” according to Workfront’s Erica Gunn. “Thirty-four percent… have delayed or halted their strategic hiring, and 22% have actually changed their go-to-market plans for products or services,” she added.

B2B Organizations' Content Marketing Team Size

About the only thing that hasn’t been trimmed is management’s expectations. You may get a pass for a brief time to get your footing, but management will be looking to you for strategies and tactics that replace in-person events with tactics that are effective, within reduced budgets, and can be executed with existing resources.

The Third Door Media Content Studio team is here to help, whether you need content that engages, content amplification or a multichannel campaign that achieves multiple objectives.

We recently put this team to the test, asking them to produce 39 webinars for our Discover MarTech virtual event in 3 weeks. They were 39-0 in getting the job done and generated more than 12,000 leads for participating companies.
